Location release form
This form gives me permission to shoot in the relevant location.Risk assessment

Mood board
I have created a mood board including album covers, vinyls, instruments, venues and concerts. The creation of the mood board enables me to understand the codes and conventions of the indie genre so that I will be able to include it in my magazine. The mood board showed me the prominent colour schemes in relation to my chosen genre.

Reasons for my choices
- PUNK ATTITUDE is my chosen font for my masthead. I have chosen this font as the alternative print represents the content of the magazine. I believe this font also maintains a balance of clarity whilst still being striking, it creates a 'new age' psychedelic atmosphere which is in line with the magazine's values.
- Lemon/milk is my chosen font for my subheadings and article headlines. I have chose this font as the sharpness of it catches the readers eye whilst not taking attention away from the article content. I believe the bold futuristic twist of edge on this font represents the magazine's concept of rising artists.
- Futura is my chosen article/ content font. I have chosen it as it is clear and concise, not distracting the reader from the article content.
Colour scheme
I have chosen this as my colour scheme as it reflects the genre in which my magazine focuses on. The choice of dark colours links into the grunge and rock music, due to this I feel my choice of colour is appropriate. Originally my colour scheme was different, this changed after my pitch and hearing the clients comments concerning the very dark colours in it. My colour scheme is now much brighter and eye-catching. My colour scheme includes 'gender neutral' colours, appealing to my target audience of both genders.
Legal and ethical issues that may impact preproduction, and how to resolve these.
Legal
- When shooting on private property, permission will need to be obtained from the owner on a location release form. This may impact my pre-production as it may not be possible to obtain permission to shoot within the desired location. If this is the case, I will have to overcome this issue by finding a alternate location to shoot in.
- When shooting in Camden I would need to get the appropriate location release forms signed by the local council.
- Models will be required to sign a model release form as proof of agreement. Alike to the need for a location release form, permission will need to be obtain from the desired model. If permission is not given, an alternate model will have to be found.
- Models who are minors will require a parent/ guardian to sign the model release form on behalf of them. This may impact me as it has the potential to slow down the pre-production process. To overcome this possible issue, I will leave time to account for any possible delays.
- Risk assessments will be conducted in order to prevent damage and harm to individuals involved in preproduction.
- When creating my magazine I will need to ensure that most of my images are original and those with are not I have permission to use. I may need to pay for the copyright of some material such as fonts and famous artists.
Ethical
- Images should not be misleading or open to negative misinterpretation. This may impact the pre-production process as images will have to be check with multiple sources to ensure they are not being misinterpreted. A number of options will have to be taken in order to gain a full understanding and be certain that no offence or harm will be caused. This may impact the pre-production process as it may take time to gain the suitable number of opinions needed. This potential issue will be overcome by locating the sources prior to shooting.
- Images should not be distorted in a way harmful to anyone, especially the model. This may impact the pre-production process as if the model is not happy with the content produced, it will have to be retaken. In order to overcome this during the shooting process I will take extra care and precautions to ensure no offence is caused.
- Image content will not be offence e.g. sexist.
- Magazine content will be age appropriate for the target audience. My target audience is 17 to 24, which means that part of the demographic are not technically adults. This means content should not include anything that could cause harm or offence.
